How Can Dr. Kane Help with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome?

The carpal tunnel is a small passage inside the wrist. The bottom and sides of the tunnel are formed by small bones. A ligament called the transverse carpal ligament arches over these bones, forming the roof of the tunnel. Passing through this tunnel are arteries, veins, tendons, and nerves. This includes the tendons that allow the fingers to bend, and the median nerve, which conducts impulses sent by the brain down the arms and to the fingers.

Pressure on the median nerve leads to symptoms of carpal tunnel syndrome. Some factors that could lead to increased pressure include arthritis, wrist fractures, rheumatoid arthritis, obesity, and fluid retention.
